Abstract:This paper, drawing on the guiding principles of General Secretary Xi Jinping s instructions regarding ideological and political work in universities and integrating the construction practice of Sichuan University"s Acupuncture and Moxibustion elective course, which has been recognized as a model curriculum for ideological and political education within the university, explores how to effectively carry out ideological and political education among clinical medical students in Western medicine colleges through Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) courses such as acupuncture electives. By implementing strategies including nurturing a profound appreciation for TCM culture, substantiating TCM clinical thinking through evidence of therapeutic efficacy, leveraging the exemplary role of teachers, and elevating students" understanding through post-class reflections, the author aims to enhance clinical medical students" interest in TCM at Western medicine colleges, strengthen their cultural confidence, refine their clinical reasoning skills, fortify their sense of belonging to the Chinese nation, and ultimately cultivate medical professionals with both moral integrity and professional excellence.
