With the development of higher medical education reform, cultivating comprehensive medical talents with innovative and practical abilities has become an educational focus. As a comprehensive course, medical laboratory animal science is an emerging discipline that transforms the research results of basic medicine into clinical applications. It aims to cultivate students" scientific research innovation ability and experimental hands-on ability, and plays an important role in the development of clinical medicine. The course of medical laboratory animal science not only involves experimental animal theory, but also experimental teaching such as pathological experimental operation of experimental mice, abdominal surgery, body composition, and behavioral experiments. It also covers humanistic quality education such as animal ethics, which presents more challenges in education and teaching. Aiming at the shortcomings of the traditional teaching process of medical laboratory animal science, this paper combines the existing teaching resources and platforms, conducts reform exploration and practice in terms of teaching content, methods and assessment methods, and establishes a teaching plan that combines theory, experimental operation and work practice, in order to provide some reference for the teaching of medical laboratory animal science.
