Abstract:Objective: To observe the effect of the combined application of terbutaline and methylprednisolone sodium succinate for injection in children with acute asthmatic bronchitis. Method: Seventy children with acute asthmatic bronchitis admitted to the pediatrics department of our hospital from June 2022 to June 2024 were selected as the research subjects. The children were divided into the control group (35 cases) and the study group (35 cases) by the random number table method. The control group was treated with terbutaline combined with budesonide. The research group was treated with methylprednisolone for injection, sodium succinate combined with terbutaline. The therapeutic effects, levels of inflammatory factors [eosinophil count (EC), C-reactive protein (CRP)], improvement of symptoms and adverse reactions of the two groups were analyzed and compared. Result: After treatment, the levels of EC and CRP in both groups decreased significantly compared with those before treatment, and the levels of EC and CRP in the study group after treatment were significantly lower than those in the control group (P < 0.05). After treatment, the disappearance time of cough, the relief time of wheezing and the disappearance time of wheezing sounds in the study group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P < 0.05). There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P > 0.05). Conclusion: Methylprednisolone sodium succinate for injection combined with terbutaline in the treatment of acute asthmatic bronchitis in children can relieve inflammatory responses, promote symptom improvement, and has good safety.
