Objective: To study the efficacy of hollow canal bacteriostatic paste combined with Vitapex in the treatment of pulpitis of deciduous teeth. Methods: A total of 72 children with pulpitis of deciduous teeth who were admitted to hospital from April 2023 to April 2025 were included and divided into Vitapex group (36 cases) and combined group (36 cases) by random drawing method. Both groups were treated with root canal therapy and Vitapex filling. The combined group was filled with hollow canal bacteriostatic paste. The filling effect, pain score, occlusal function and chewing efficiency were compared between the two groups. Results: After 3 months of treatment, the proportion of appropriate filling in combined group was higher than that in Vitapex group (P<0.05), and the proportion of underfilling was lower than that in Vitapex group (P<0.05). After 1 week and 1 month of treatment, the pain score in the two groups was decreased, and the score in combined group was lower than that in Vitapex group (P<0.05). After 1 week of treatment, the occlusal force and chewing efficiency in combined group were higher (P<0.05), and the occlusal time was shorter compared to Vitapex group (P<0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the sulcus bleeding index, gingival index and periodontal pocket depth were reduced in both groups, and the above indexes were lower in combined group than those in Vitapex group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Hollow canal bacteriostatic paste combined with Vitapex can significantly enhance the filling effect, relieve the pain, improve the occlusal function and periodontal health, and enhance the chewing efficiency in the treatment of pulpitis of deciduous teeth.
