Abstract:Objective: To analyze the effects of Jin"s three-needle therapy combined with Chinese herbal acupoint application on growth rate and motor behavior in children with growth retardation. Methods: A total of 126 children with growth retardation admitted to our hospital between April 2021 and May 2024 were randomly divided into two groups (n=63). All children in the first group were treated with Jin"s three-needle therapy, while the observation group received combined Chinese herbal acupoint application. Both groups were treated for 12 consecutive weeks. Growth, development, language function, GH, IGFBP-3, and IGF-1 levels were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results: Compared with before treatment, height, weight, BMI, and Gesell and Ver-BAS scores were significantly higher in the observation group after treatment (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, GH, IGFBP-3, and IGF-1 levels were significantly higher in the observation group after treatment (P<0.05). Conclusion: Jin"s three-needle therapy combined with Chinese medicine acupoint application for children with growth retardation can effectively promote the growth of height and weight and improve motor and language abilities, and also has positive significance in improving the levels of GH, IGFBP-3 and IGF-1.
