Abstract Objective: To observe the curative effect of Xuanfei Zhisu mixture combined with budesonide on the syndrome of cough and wind evil invading lung caused by swine flu. Methods: From June 2022 to May 2024, 78 patients with the syndrome of cough and wind evil invading lung caused by swine flu were selected as the study objects. The patients were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, 39 cases in each group. The control group was treated with budesonide. Observation group was treated with Xuanfei Zhishu mixture on the basis of control group. The clinical symptom relief rate, TCM syndrome score, Cough evaluation test (CET) and safety of the two groups were analyzed and compared. Results: On the 7th and 14th day of treatment, the remission rate of clinical symptoms in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). On the 7th and 14th day of treatment, CET and TCM syndrome scores in both groups were significantly lower than before treatment, and CET and TCM syndrome scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group on the 7th and 14th day of treatment (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Xuanfei Zhisu mixture combined with budesonide can relieve the cough symptoms and traditional Chinese medicine syndromes caused by swine flu, with good safety.
