Objective: To compare curative effect of endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (En-DCR) and artificial tube implantation, and patency rate of lacrimal passage in patients with lacrimal duct obstruction disease (LDOD). Methods: A total of 60 patients with LDOD in the hospital were enrolled and randomly divided into control group (n=30, En-DCR) and observation group (n=30, En-DCR combined with artificial tube implantation) between May 2023 and May 2024. The curative effect at 6 months after surgery and surgical indexes in the two groups were compared. The patency rates of lacrimal passage were statistically analyzed at different time points after surgery. At 6 months after surgery, incidence of complications was statistically analyzed by telephone follow-up. Results: At 6 months after surgery, response rate of treatment and patency rate of lacrimal passage in observation group were higher than those in control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in clinical surgical indexes between the two groups (P>0.05). At 1 month and 3 months after surgery, there was no significant difference in patency rate of lacrimal passage between the two groups (P>0.05). According to telephone follow-up at 6 months after treatment, there was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two group (P>0.05). Conclusion: Curative effect of En-DCR combined with artificial tube implantation is better in LDOD patients, which can shorten length of hospital stay and operation time, reduce intraoperative blood loss and increase patency rate of lacrimal passage, with few postoperative complications.
